DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehabilitation programs are either there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders could possibly be required to go to rehabilitation either in place of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that people who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of remaining out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This could truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug abuse should they drive while under the influence in the future. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
