DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehab centers are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug and alcohol rehabilitation due to a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders could be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of remaining out of the courts than those who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their substance abuse. This could truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug abuse should they drive while drunk or high later on. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
