Criminal justice clients are people who are in any kind of drug treatment facility as a result of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will happen for instance if someone is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other type of drug related offense that has led the judge to believe that the individual has any kind of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehab center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the judge it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this chance. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences may be completely eradicated or lessened if the individual does well in rehabilitation and completes the drug treatment facility that has been ordered for them. New offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who experience rehab in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehab.
