DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug and alcohol treatment facilities are either there by their own choice, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehab due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be required to go to rehab either in place of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of remaining out from the courts than those who are fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This may truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their substance abuse whenever they drive while under the influence down the road. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
