DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehabilitation facilities are generally there on their own accord, but generally in alcohol and drug rehab due to a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be required to go to rehab either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of remaining out of the courts than those who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment programs DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This can truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while drunk or high later on. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
