DUI/DWI clients that are involved in drug and alcohol rehab centers are generally there on their own accord, but generally in drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders could be ordered to rehabilitation either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of staying out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug abuse. This could truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their substance abuse should they drive while drunk or high later on. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
