Outpatient treatment gives rehabilitation clients the ability to sustain specific responsibilities and elements of their way of life while taking part in alcohol and drug rehab services. Outpatient treatment is a moderate level of treatment, and should not be mistaken for the level of rehab provided in an inpatient or residential rehab program which is significantly more extensive. Outpatient treatment could be well suited for a person who has a brief history of substance abuse as an example, but will most surely not be adequate for somebody whose rehab needs go beyond that which outpatient treatment is prepared to offer.
