Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of drug treatment program due to alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for example if someone else is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led the court to think the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the court it is wise that the individual try everything they are able to to benefit from this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eliminated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment facility which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do experience rehabilitation in place of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to time in jail or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves a legal court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehabilitation.
