Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug rehabilitation center as a result of alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for example if someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, and for any other type of drug related offense which has led the court to think the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the court it's strongly advised that the individual try everything they are able to to make the most of this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences can be completely eradicated or lessened if the individual does well in rehabilitation and completes the drug rehab facility that has been ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who do experience rehabilitation in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to time in jail or receive other penalties. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
