DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in alcohol and drug treatment facilities are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders might be required to go to treatment either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of staying out from the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these issues and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which set off their substance abuse. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug abuse whenever they drive while intoxicated later on. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
