Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehab program on account of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for example if someone is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related criminal offense which has led the judge to believe the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered by the court it's wise that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the alcohol and drug rehab center that is ordered for them. First-time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that take part in rehabilitation in lieu of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
