Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of alcohol and drug rehab program due to a drug or alcohol related crime. This will occur for example if a person is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related offense which has led the court to believe the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the judge it is strongly advised that the individual try everything they can to benefit from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences may be completely eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation program which was ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients that do take part in rehab in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive powerful treatment.
