DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug treatment programs are generally there by their own choice, but generally in drug and alcohol treatment due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of remaining out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug abuse. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while drunk or high later on. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
