DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug treatment facilities are generally there on their own accord, but usually in drug and alcohol treatment due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that those who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have much better chances of remaining out of the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their drug abuse. This can certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug abuse should they drive while under the influence down the road. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
