Bluefield - Dual Diagnosis

Dual diagnosis can be a circumstance in which two independent disorders exist, and most typically denotes a co-occurring drug or alcohol use and mental health disorder. A dual diagnosis might help someone that may not have been able to be helped before, finish drug abuse because they can be correctly diagnosed and helped. Their mental health disorder may have been misdiagnosed, not diagnosed at all, or mistreated which could have triggered and led to their substance abuse issues. Establishing the fact someone is in fact a dual diagnosis client not only helps establish a highly effective treatment course for them, but could also help clients better determine what caused their drug use and how to prevent it in the foreseeable future. Handling dual diagnosis is often a more extensive process when compared to a typical drug rehab program, and folks with a dual diagnosis might need to take part in an extensive aftercare program which may include proper medical support as well as further rehab services. Being diagnosed with co-occurring disorders doesn't imply that the individual should be medicated through out their lives either, and in fact a lot of people who have a dual diagnosis experience more effective results when treated holistically and when alternative therapy is employed.
