Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehab center as a result of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will happen for example when someone is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related crime which has led the judge to believe that the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the judge it's wise that the individual do everything they're able to to benefit from this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences could be completely eliminated or lessened when the individual does well in rehab and completes the drug treatment facility which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who do experience rehabilitation in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
