DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in alcohol and drug treatment centers are generally there by their own choice, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders may be ordered to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out of the court system than those who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their drug abuse if they drive while intoxicated in the future. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
