DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehab facilities are generally there on their own accord, but usually in drug and alcohol rehab due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could be required to go to rehab either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that those who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of remaining out of the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This may certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be affected by their drug abuse if they drive while intoxicated down the road. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
