DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug treatment centers are generally there by their own choice, but usually in drug and alcohol rehab as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could be required to go to treatment either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as an alternative to other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of remaining out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which set off their substance abuse. This may certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
