Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of alcohol and drug rehabilitation program as a result of a drug or alcohol related offense. This will occur for example if someone is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the judge to think that the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehab center as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the court it's wise that the individual do everything they're able to to get the most from this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences may be totally eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehab and finishes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation center which was ordered for them. Very first time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehabilitation in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to time in jail or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
