Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug rehabilitation center due to a drug or alcohol related crime. This can occur for example when someone is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other kind of drug related offense that has led the judge to think the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered through the judge it's wise that the individual do everything they are able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the drug treatment facility which was ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do experience rehab in place of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehab.
