Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug rehab center on account of alcohol or drug related crime. This will occur for instance when someone is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related offense which has led the judge to think the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the court it is wise that the individual do everything they are able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences may be completely eliminated or lessened in the event the individual does well in treatment and completes the drug treatment facility which was ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that do experience rehabilitation instead of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive powerful treatment.
