DUI/DWI clients that are involved in alcohol and drug treatment facilities are either there by their own choice, but generally in alcohol and drug rehab due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders may be ordered to rehab either in place of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from treatment rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of staying out from the court system than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their substance abuse whenever they drive while drunk or high down the road. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
