Criminal justice clients are those who are in any kind of drug and alcohol treatment program due to alcohol or drug related offense. This will happen for instance if a person is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related crime which has led a legal court to believe the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered through the judge it is strongly advised that the individual do everything they're able to to benefit from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences may be entirely eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehab and finishes the alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility that has been ordered for them. New offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who experience rehab in place of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to prison time or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective treatment.
