DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities are either there by their own choice, but generally in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that people who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of remaining out of the court system than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to be able to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which set off their substance abuse. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their substance abuse when they drive while under the influence in the future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
