DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are generally there by their own choice, but usually in drug treatment as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders could be ordered to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have greater chances of staying out from the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their substance abuse when they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
