Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug treatment program as a result of a drug or alcohol related crime. This can occur for instance if someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or any other kind of drug related criminal offense which has led the court to believe the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol treatment facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the court it is strongly advised that the individual try everything they're able to to get the most from this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be completely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment center that has been ordered for them. New offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that take part in treatment in lieu of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties.
