DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug treatment programs are either there on their own accord, but generally in alcohol and drug treatment due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be ordered to rehab either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that those who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while intoxicated down the road. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
