DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol treatment facilities are either there on their own accord, but generally in alcohol and drug rehabilitation due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders might be required to go to rehab either in place of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of staying out from the court system than those who are fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This could truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use whenever they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future.
