Cumberland - Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient treatment gives rehabilitation clients the ability to maintain certain responsibilities and aspects of their way of life while getting involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation services. Outpatient treatment is a moderate amount of rehabilitation, and shouldn't be mistaken for the amount of rehabilitation provided within an inpatient or residential rehab program which is significantly more intensive. Outpatient treatment may be suitable for anyone who has a short history of drug abuse for instance, but will most definitely not be adequate for someone whose rehabilitation needs exceed what outpatient treatment is able to offer. Individuals involved in drug and alcohol use often need a considerable change of environment, because many of the things which trigger their drug abuse are purely environmental. As an example, if a person is being physically or psychologically mistreated and this is triggering their substance abuse, it's impossible for any rehabilitation endeavours to have success if they return to such circumstances each day. In outpatient treatment, individuals can engage in group and individual therapy, along with family therapy services. In outpatient treatment, most centers will provide services five to seven days a week on either a part time or full-time basis for four weeks or longer in some instances.
