DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug rehab as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders may be required to go to rehabilitation either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have greater chances of remaining out of the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which set off their substance abuse. This may truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their drug abuse whenever they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
