DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehab programs are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug and alcohol rehab as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders might be ordered to treatment either in place of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that those who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of remaining out from the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these problems and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while drunk or high down the road. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
