Residential short-term treatment for drug abuse provides treatment services to people in a residential setting for 30 days or less. This type of treatment is often covered by private medical insurance, and Medicaid and Medicare in some cases if considered required. While in residential short-term treatment for under 30 days, rehabilitation clients will likely be detoxed if this hasn't recently been done just before arriving at rehabilitation, and they will experience rehabilitation services for about 30 days. These services may differ based on the drug rehab program of choice, and can typically incorporate a moderate amount of both group and individual therapy. When someone isn't content with their advancement in drug rehabilitation after the 30-day period is up, you should seek further alcohol and drug rehab services at a more long-term facility. It isn't uncommon for this to be the case, as rehabilitation clients in residential short-term rehab are barely in a position to overcome acute physical results of their drug or alcohol dependence and addiction in this small amount of time. Once an individual has completed a residential short-term treatment program of less than 30 days, and if more intensive rehab isn't feasible, the person should acquire extensive aftercare at the minimum.
