Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of drug rehabilitation facility as a result of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will occur for example if someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the court to think the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered from the court it's wise that the individual do everything they are able to to benefit from this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be totally eliminated or lessened if the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment facility which has been ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who take part in rehab in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. Ultimately, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain powerful treatment.
