DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehab centers are either there by their own choice, but generally in drug treatment due to a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders could be required to go to treatment either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of remaining out of the court system than those who are fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their drug abuse. This can certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their drug abuse should they drive while drunk or high later on. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
