DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders could be ordered to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence.
