DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehab facilities are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug treatment due to a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders may be ordered to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of staying out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug abuse. This could truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their substance abuse should they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
