Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of alcohol and drug rehabilitation program due to alcohol or drug related crime. This will happen for example if a person is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or any other kind of drug related criminal offense which has led the judge to believe that the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but if this approach is ordered through the court it's wise that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehab and finishes the alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which has been ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehab in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to time in jail or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
