DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug treatment facilities are either there on their own accord, but usually in alcohol and drug rehabilitation due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be ordered to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of staying out of the court system than those who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This may truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug abuse if they drive while drunk or high in the future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
