DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehab centers are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in alcohol and drug treatment as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders may be required to go to treatment either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of staying out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This can certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use whenever they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
