Elba, Alabama - Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient treatment gives treatment clients the opportunity to maintain certain responsibilities and aspects of their way of life while getting involved in drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. Outpatient treatment is a moderate level of treatment, and should not be mistaken for the amount of rehabilitation offered in an inpatient or residential rehabilitation program which can be much more intensive. Outpatient treatment may be well suited for someone who has a brief history of drug or alcohol use for example, but will certainly not be adequate for an individual whose treatment needs go beyond what outpatient treatment is prepared to offer. Individuals involved in drug abuse often require a considerable environmental change, because many of the things which prompt their substance abuse are purely environmental. For example, if someone else has been physically or emotionally mistreated and this is triggering their drug or alcohol use, there is no way for any rehabilitation efforts to achieve success if they go back to such circumstances every day. In outpatient treatment, clients can take advantage of group and one-on-one therapy, in addition to family counseling services. In outpatient treatment, most facilities offer services five to seven days a week on either a part-time or full-time basis for four weeks or longer in some cases.
