DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug rehab facilities are generally there by their own choice, but generally in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders could be ordered to rehab either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of staying out from the courts than those people who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their substance abuse. This will truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use whenever they drive while under the influence in the future. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
