DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug and alcohol treatment centers are generally there by their own choice, but usually in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could be required to go to rehabilitation either in place of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of remaining out from the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug treatment programs DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug abuse. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while drunk or high down the road. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
