DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehabilitation programs are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug and alcohol treatment as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders could be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of staying out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug abuse when they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
