DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehab facilities are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders might be ordered to rehabilitation either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that people who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the court system than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to be able to address these problems and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug abuse.
