DUI/DWI clients that are involved in drug rehabilitation facilities are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug rehab as part of a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders may be ordered to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of staying out of the courts than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to be able to address these problems and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This could truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while under the influence in the future. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
