Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug rehab center because of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will occur for instance if a person is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or any other type of drug related offense that has led a legal court to think that the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug rehab center as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered by the judge it is wise that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences may be completely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the alcohol and drug treatment center which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that take part in rehab in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective treatment.
