Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of drug treatment program due to a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for example when someone is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the judge to think that the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences could be totally eliminated or lessened in the event the individual does well in rehab and completes the drug treatment facility which was ordered for them. Very first time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that experience rehab in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to prison time or receive other penalties.
