Often, parents and other adults can spot signs that a teen is involved with drug abuse and may require help well before the problem becomes serious. The biggest thing would be to intervene without delay, and not hold back until the problem is more pronounced, and by doing this many negative consequences can be avoided. The second is obviously preferred, as this will ensure that the individual receives the right volume of attention and that treatment professionals can focus on the demands of these youths which might be completely different than their adult counterparts. There are a number of various facilities in which teen drug addiction treatment can take place, including therapeutic communities, residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs, wilderness centers, and in many cases boot camp type facilities. Teen drug addiction treatment will frequently include one-on-one counseling, group counseling along with their peers, and various rehab services directed at addressing the difficulties and issues which have to do with a teen's life specifically.
