Criminal justice clients are those who are in any kind of drug treatment facility as a result of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This can occur for example if someone else is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or any other kind of drug related crime which has led the judge to think that the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered from the court it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they're able to to get the most from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences may be completely eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehab and finishes the alcohol and drug rehabilitation program that is ordered for them. New offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who do take part in treatment instead of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective treatment.
